Dancer in the Wind

Sheet Music

Lyrics:

Dancer in the Wind

Walking down the Market Street
Trying to escape the breeze
I noticed someone in the crowd,
there walked a person with bare feet.
I could not but follow him,
he stepped twice forward, did a spin,
so I met a Dancer in the Wind.
With Pulse and rhythm in his pace,
joyful eyes and smiling face
he decided to dance.

Facing the Sun, he’s not afraid,
Rules - they are but others shades
He does not see them, why to care
the wind longs to play with his hair
a game of open air

Dusty path became the street
Mother Earth enjoys his feet
The heavy antlers - badge of pride
turned into wings, dance became flight

Giving joy like trees give scent,
he’s like me, innocent.
Forgotten be our sins,
we’re both the same, a pair of grins.
Joy of living, no more blame,
children of Nature, born to play.
Free in our steps and spins,
Dancers in the Wind

Going Home

Going home across the mountains,
going home across the sea.
The land of goats, the hills and meadows,
misty ways are curved and steep.

Singing songs that are of sorrows,
longing for the hometown tree.
Songs of death and songs of heroes,
breaking oaths I was to keep.

Going home, across the mountains,
going home across the sea.
The land of goats, the misty ways
and miles to go, before I sleep.

Don’t cry for the fallen angel,
don’t cry for the soul set free.
Going home across the mountains,
going home to sow and reap.

A Garden

There’s an ancient, ancient garden
that I see sometimes in dreams,
Where the very Maytime sunlight plays and glows with spectral gleams;
Where the gaudy-tinted blossoms seem to wither into grey,
And the crumbling walls and pillars waken thoughts of yesterday.

There are vines in nooks and crannies, and there’s moss about the pool,
And the tangled weedy thicket

chokes the arbour dark and cool:
In the silent sunken pathways springs an herbage sparse and spare,
Where the musty scent of dead things dulls the fragrance of the air.

There is not a living creature in the lonely space around,
And the hedge-encompass’d quiet never echoes to a sound.
As I walk, and wait, and listen,

I will often seek to find
When it was I knew that garden

in an age long left behind;

I will oft conjure a vision
of a day that is no more,
As I gaze upon the grey, grey

scenes I feel I knew before.
Then a sadness settles o’er me,

and a tremor seems to start:
For I know the flow’rs are shrivell’d hopes—the garden is my heart!

Bonny Sweet Robin

Robin is to the green wood gone,
leaving me here to sigh all alone.
Yet I'm resolved to have no other boy
for bonny sweet Robin is all my joy.

The Fool's Song

Fools had ne'er less grace in a year,
for wise men are grown foppish.
And know not how their wits to wear,
their manners are so apish.

Greensleeves

Alas my love you do me wrong
To cast me off discourteously;
And I have loved you oh so long
Delighting in your company.

Greensleeves was my delight,
Greensleeves my heart of gold
Greensleeves was my heart of joy
And who but my lady Greensleeves.

I have been ready at your hand
To grant whatever thou would'st crave;
I have waged both life and land
Your love and goodwill for to have.

Greensleeves was my delight,
Greensleeves my heart of gold
Greensleeves was my heart of joy
And who but my lady Greensleeves.

Thy petticoat of slender white
With gold embroidered gorgeously;
Thy petticoat of silk and white
And these I bought gladly.

Greensleeves was my delight,
Greensleeves my heart of gold
Greensleeves was my heart of joy
And who but my lady Greensleeves

To the Henge

Jedeme raději se psem,
nebudem naději rozdávat,
budeme voliti zem, polezem,
země se probere ránem.
Protože nemíti sen snem,
rádi se budeme rozcházet.
Nebude zatěžko smát se, když
rozdáme radosti kolik se vejde sem!

Black Wedding

Starala se máti má, starala se máti má
Hej nám hej, kam mě k místu pochová.

Nestarej se matičko, dostanu já místečko
Hej nám hej, dostanu já místečko.

Na slavkovském hřbitově,

tam mám místo hotově
Hej nám hej, tam mám místo...

Ponesou mě na márách,

jak nevěstu v peřinách
Hej nám hej, jak nevěstu v peřinách.

A červení mravenci

budou moji mládenci
Hej nám hej, budou moji mládenci.
